Event Brief:
A 3-day Research Capacity Strengthening (RCS) workshop, embedded in the 3rd Annual Symposium aims to provide practical experience to recognise the concepts of translating research evidence to written research outputs for academic and non-academic audience. Conducted in a focused retreat atmosphere, the workshop will provide an undistracted atmosphere for writing and collaboration. Participants will engage in a dynamic learning environment through peer-feedback, knowledge exchanges, and discussions with mentors.
Organisation & Structure:
The workshop will include –
- In-person teaching sessions with subject matter experts
- Dedicated writing-in-peace sessions
- Constructive feedback from domain mentors and peers
Intended Learning Objectives:
- To understand the concept of “windows of influence” to recognize critical moments for policy engagement
- To translate complex research findings into clear, concise, and accessible lay summaries that are tailored to non-specialist and policy audiences
- To receive constructive, one-on-one feedback from mentors and peers on scientific writing
