CNN Indonesia interviewed Dr Sujarwoto and Dr Holipah for a news segment on the issue of air pollution due to traditional limestone burning. Local factory owners use plastic waste as fuel for incineration as plastic is inexpensive and easily available. This practice dates back to the early 90’s. However, it’s a cause for concern as plastic burning produces toxic fumes that pollute the environment.
